The Polycraft Metal Cover Silver 300g is an epoxy enamel spray paint made to coat rust-prone steel without a primer. It forms a rust inhibiting top coat that resists both rust and the penetration of corrosive elements, and suits metal fences, roofs, doors, gutters, downpipes, window frames, workshop machinery, railings and gates.
Before applying Metal Cover, the steel surface must be cleaned free of grease, rust, wax, dirt and anti-rust additives, with a wire brush or sander used to expose sound metal and a lint-free cloth with Polycraft Wax and Grease Remover used for a final wipe down. Polycraft Metal Cover can then be applied directly to ferrous surfaces such as mild and heavy grade steel, while non-ferrous surfaces such as aluminium and galvanised iron need priming first with Polycraft Etch Primer.
With surrounding areas masked off, the can should be shaken for one minute and periodically during use so the internal ball moves freely, then sprayed in slightly overlapping layers with a few minutes between coats until full coverage is achieved.
