The Polycraft Metal Cover Gloss Black 300g is an epoxy enamel paint designed for direct application to rust-prone or previously rusted steel surfaces. It forms a rust-inhibiting gloss black topcoat that resists further corrosion and blocks the penetration of corrosive elements, making it suited to metal fences, roofs, doors, gutters and downpipes, window frames, workshop machinery and gates.
Before applying Metal Cover, the surface must be cleaned and free from grease, rust, wax and dirt, with a wire brush or sander used to expose sound metal. Metal Cover applies directly to ferrous surfaces such as mild and heavy grade steel without a primer, while non-ferrous surfaces like aluminium and galvanised iron require priming with Polycraft Etch Primer first.
