RUTH NAPANGARDI LANGDON
Ruth was born in Alice Springs Hospital in 1993 and
grew up in Yuendumu community in the Northern
Territory, where she went to the local community
school. She loves playing softball and has also worked
as a childcare and youth worker. Her parents are also
artists, Geraldine Napurrurla Langdon, and Jimmy
Langdon.
Ruth began painting with the Warlukurlangu Artists
Aboriginal Corporation, an Aboriginal owned and
governed art centre located in Yuendumu, in 2009. Ruth
paints designs associated with her family’s country
including Ngurrlu Jukurrpa (Native Seed Dreaming) and
Wanakiji Jukurrpa (Bush Tomato Dreaming). These stories
and designs have been passed down through her family
for millennia.
