Carpet, Rugs & Upholstery

A quick pass with the vacuum will get your couch, carpets and rugs looking pretty fresh. But once you sink into them with an upholstery washer, you’ll be hooked!

What You’ll Need:

  • A carpet and upholstery washer
  • Appropriate cleaning concentrate for your machine
  • Warm water
Bissell Spotclean

These machines have a clean, and a dirty water tank attached. Just fill the clean water tank with warm tap water, and add cleaning product to the recommended level. Use some boost stain remover as well if you’re looking at REALLY tough stains.

If you’re expecting a fair bit of ingrained filth, it’s a good idea to pre-treat. Spray the surface with cleaning formula and leave it to soak for 5 minutes while you have a cuppa.

Fire up the machine again, place the head of the tool on the surface, apply a little pressure; and watch the transparent head of the tool as filthy stains are sucked straight out.

At first, the act of soaking your couch or carpet may have felt a little wrong. But as you glide along and suck filthy water straight back out, it feels SO right! Repeat the process a few times if necessary, until the water comes out reasonably clean.

Windows so Clean, You Won't Know They're There!

When was the last time you looked AT the windows rather than through them? Chances are, you could be seeing the world outside with a lot more clarity!

What you’ll need:

  • A glass cleaner spray. Automotive or home glass cleaners will work the same
  • Glass cleaning cloths. At least two

The trick is to start with your cleanest windows first, and work you way down to the filthiest ones last.

Give the window a spray, and wipe it over with one of the glass cloths straight away.

This will remove most of the marks. Then immediately wipe over it with the other cloth. You want to keep the second cloth as dry as possible, this will ensure a streak free finish.

Once the main cloth is too soiled, and your second cloth becomes damp; you’ll need to wash and dry them, or move onto a fresh pair.

Strip stubborn stains in the toilet, kitchen & bathroom!

Have you noticed any marks, stains or discolouration which prevail every time you clean these areas? It likely just needs some special attention and you’ll have most of them gone in no time.

What you’ll need

  • A couple of cleaning cloths
  • Fine grade steel wool
  • CLR Calcium, Lime & Rust Remover
  • A bucket of water

Sometimes, and often around taps, chrome, or steel fittings; you’ll find rust stains. It could be on your bathtub, shower tiles, in the grout, on glass surfaces. The CLR product will deal with most of this very effectively. Let it soak, then wipe it off with your wet cloth.

This will also remove stains in the toilet bowl, calcium deposits on shower heads and bore water stains from outside your windows.

But what is the steel wool for? Well, if some of those stains are particularly stubborn, steel wool offers light abrasion to move them. Its safe on glass, great on the kitchen sink, and chrome plated surfaces. Take it easy on the scrubbing so as not to damage the surface.

So inside the house is looking pretty good, but how about outside? You might need a little fresh air by now anyway! There’s plenty you can get on with outside, and return to the comfort of pristine living areas when you’re done.
