The UNIMIG Gold Tungsten Electrodes 1.6mm 10 Pack are lanthanated TIG tungsten electrodes designed for welders working on steel, stainless steel and other alloys. Classified WL15 (AWS EWLa-1.5), they contain a minimum of 97.8 per cent tungsten and 1.3 to 1.7 per cent lanthanum, giving excellent arc starting, a low burn-off rate and strong arc stability. Lanthanated tungsten shares the conductivity characteristics of 2 per cent thoriated tungsten, offering a similar performance profile without the radioactive hazard associated with thoriated grades.
Gold Tungsten Electrodes suit both AC and DC electrode negative welding, running with a pointed end or balled for use with AC sine wave power sources. They maintain a sharpened point well, an advantage when welding steel and stainless steel on DC or AC from square wave power sources. Each pack contains 10 electrodes measuring 1.6mm in diameter.
