The UNIMIG Zirconiated Tungsten Electrode 2.4mm 10 Pieces PTR0006-24 is a zirconiated tungsten electrode designed for AC welding. Classified as AWS EWZr-1, it contains a minimum of 99.10 per cent tungsten and 0.15 to 0.40 per cent zirconium, giving it a current-carrying capacity equal to or greater than thoriated tungsten. Zirconiated tungsten produces a very stable ARC and resists tungsten spitting during AC welding.
The zirconiated tungsten electrode retains a balled tip and offers high resistance to contamination, making it well suited to AC welding applications. Zirconiated tungsten is not recommended for DC welding.
