The UNIMIG Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes 1.6mm 10 Pack, PTR0004-16 are 2% thoriated TIG welding electrodes classified EWTh-2 under AWS and ISO standards. Each electrode contains a minimum of 97.30% tungsten and 1.70 to 2.20% thorium, the composition that gives WT20 electrodes their 2% thoriated rating and makes them one of the most widely used tungsten types for TIG welding. Thorium is a low-level radioactive hazard, though enclosed in the tungsten matrix the risk is negligible during normal handling.
UNIMIG Thoriated Tungsten Electrodes measure 1.6mm in diameter by 175mm in length and are identified by a red tip colour. They deliver a good, stable ARC start, run on DC power only, resist tungsten spitting for less chance of weld contamination, and maintain a sharpened point through extended use while operating below their melting point to extend electrode lifespan. This pack contains 10 electrodes.
