The UNIMIG Rare Earth Tungsten 3.2mm 10 Pack, PTR0005-32 is a T3 tungsten electrode for TIG welding on AC or DC power. Classified as AWS EWG, it contains a minimum of 98 per cent tungsten with up to 1.5 per cent lanthanum plus small percentages of zirconium and yttrium, giving conductivity comparable to thoriated electrodes without requiring a change to existing welding processes.
These electrodes require fewer re-grinds and deliver a longer overall lifetime than 2% thoriated tungsten, with ignition delay improving over time rather than deteriorating after repeated starts. Running cooler than thoriated tungsten at equivalent energy output extends tip life, and each electrode can be ground to a point for DC use or balled for AC ARC starting.
