The ToolPRO Inductive Xenon Timing Light is designed to adjust ignition timing on older vehicles that use a distributor instead of modern crank angle sensors and coil packs. Correct timing is critical to engine efficiency and longevity; a timing light lets you align the ignition precisely after you have removed or disturbed the distributor during maintenance or repair.
The inductive pick-up slides over the cylinder 1 ignition lead (arrow pointing toward the spark plug) without requiring disconnection. Connect the red clip to the battery positive terminal and the black to a solid earth point, and the brilliant blue-white xenon tube flashes 1,000,000 times to mark the timing mark on the crankshaft pulley. Solid-state circuitry with reverse polarity and overload protection resists burnout on long jobs.
