The ToolPRO Brake Adjusting Tool 185mm is a double-ended service tool for adjusting front and rear drum brakes without auto adjusters. Drop forged and heat treated zinc coated steel construction resists corrosion and wear in the workshop, while two different taper angles on each end accommodate the range of brake adjuster designs found across vehicles.
To adjust drum brakes, jack and support the wheel safely, then remove the dust cap and insert the tool through the access hole in the brake backing plate. Lever the cogged adjuster to increase tension until slight resistance is felt when spinning the wheel by hand. The same tool also helps loosen the adjustment mechanism when removing brake drums where the shoes catch the drum edge during disassembly.
