The Sony Double DIN Wireless Apple CarPlay Android Auto XAV-AX4000 is a digital media receiver built for seamless smartphone integration in the car. It features a 17.6cm (6.95 inch) anti-glare touchscreen with 800 x 480 resolution, giving crisp control over apps, music, calls and navigation. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connect without cables, while Bluetooth 5.0 supports hands-free calling and LDAC high-resolution audio streaming.
The XAV-AX4000 head unit outputs 55W x 4 channels of amplified power and provides 3 preamp outputs (front, rear and subwoofer) for building out a system with external amplifiers or a subwoofer. An AM/FM tuner keeps broadcast radio on hand, and the rear-view camera input displays a reversing camera feed on the touchscreen for safer parking. A compact rear chassis behind the Double DIN faceplate leaves room for cabling during installation, and the supplied external microphone and steering wheel remote control cable round out a tidy setup.
FAQs
Will this head unit fit my vehicle?
Head units are largely universal, and can be adapted to suit almost any vehicle. Almost any installation will require a vehicle specific facia kit to suit your car, and fill any gaps left behind by the old unit. You can use our MyGarage functionality to make sure you find the right kit for your vehicle.
Do I need anything else?
For a super easy plug and play head unit installation you will need a few things:
- A new head unit (obviously)
- A headunit specific wiring harness - not sure which one you need? Check the page for your new head unit and you will see it listed there.
