The Sony 6.2" Double DIN Wired Apple CarPlay Head Unit XAV-AX1000 brings smartphone connectivity to vehicles without a factory touchscreen. Apple CarPlay connects via USB for navigation, music and messaging through Siri voice control, and the 6.2 inch touchscreen wakes faster than earlier Sony models for quicker access on startup. Built in Bluetooth adds hands free calling and wireless audio streaming, supported by a supplied external microphone for clear call pickup.
Audio comes from a 4 x 55W Dynamic Reality Amp 2 with extra bass processing, and three RCA preouts let you expand the system with an external amplifier or subwoofer. A rear view camera input accepts a reversing camera, sold separately, and an AM/FM tuner with front USB and AUX inputs rounds out the connection options. The double DIN chassis suits a wide range of dash openings, and a wireless remote control is included for operation from any seat. This head unit is not compatible with Android Auto.
