The Ryco N99 MicroShield Cabin Air Filter RCA188M reduces dust, pollen, bacteria and exhaust gases entering the cabin through the HVAC system. Also known as a pollen filter, its multilayered media combines an anti-viral layer with natural polyphenol extracts, an activated carbon layer that neutralises odours such as soot and exhaust gases, and a medical-grade melt-blown electrostatically charged layer delivering N99 filtration tested to ISO11155-2:2009 with 99.7% efficiency at 0.3 microns.
Ryco recommends replacing the RCA188M every 15,000 kilometres or once a year, since a clogged cabin air filter restricts airflow into the vehicle interior and can allow trapped contaminants to be drawn back through the media. The direct fit filter is located either behind the glovebox or under the bonnet depending on the vehicle, and anti-viral and anti-bacterial agents within the media eliminate pathogens such as H1N1 and H3N2 trapped during use.
