The Ryco N99 MicroShield Cabin Air Filter RCA114M protects vehicle occupants from airborne bacteria, viruses and allergens entering through the cabin's ventilation system. Its N99 medical grade media achieves a 99.7% efficiency rating at capturing particles as small as 0.3 micron, tested to ISO11155-2:2009 standards. Three layers work together: an anti-viral pre-filter, an activated carbon layer that neutralises odours and blocks exhaust gases, and an electrostatically charged layer for fine particle capture.
This cabin filter, sometimes called a pollen filter, also traps pollen and allergens, helping to ease symptoms for hay fever and asthma sufferers, while anti-bacterial and anti-viral agents in the media stop trapped pathogens from multiplying. Replacing the filter every 15,000 kilometres or once a year keeps cabin air quality consistent, with the filter commonly located under the bonnet, below the centre console or behind the glove box.
