The Renogy DCC50S 12V 50A Dual Input DC-DC Charger RBC50D1S is a multi-stage battery charger that charges a service battery from a vehicle alternator or solar panels. While the vehicle's alternator prioritises the starting battery, the unit allows a connected solar array to charge the service battery first, and both inputs can charge simultaneously to reduce total charging time. With up to 99% MPPT tracking efficiency and up to 97% charging efficiency, it can fully charge a 1kWh service battery in as little as two hours from solar input alone.
The DCC50S supports flooded, gel, AGM and lithium battery chemistries with multi-stage charging profiles, and works with both traditional and smart Euro 6 alternators via the included IGN signal wire. A built-in voltage sensitive relay isolates the starting and service batteries to prevent charging interference, then trickle charges both once they reach full charge. An RJ45 communication port using the RS485 Modbus protocol enables remote monitoring and setup through the Renogy DC Home app, the optional BT-2 Bluetooth Module, or a compatible Renogy One display.
