The Polycraft Metal Cover Matte Black 1 Litre is an epoxy enamel topcoat formulated for rust prone and previously rusted steel surfaces around the home and shed. Applied directly onto ferrous metal without a primer, it forms a rust inhibiting, matte black finish that resists both rust and the penetration of corrosive elements. It suits metal fences, roofs, doors, gutters and downpipes, window frames, workshop machinery, railing and gates.
Before applying, the surface must be thoroughly cleaned and free from grease, rust, wax, dirt and anti-rust additives, with a wire brush or sander used to remove all traces of rust and expose sound metal. Once the metal has dried thoroughly, Polycraft Metal Cover can be applied directly to ferrous surfaces such as mild and heavy grade steel, while non-ferrous surfaces such as aluminium and galvanised iron need an etch primer first.
