The Narva Battery & Starter Cable 100 Amp 8mm x 7m Black is a single-core automotive cable for wiring battery and starter circuits in 12V and 24V vehicles. It is rated at 100A for up to 5 minutes on a 60% duty cycle, with a maximum continuous rating of 74A at 30°C ambient temperature, suiting dual battery installations and other high current circuits. The oxygen-free copper conductor and durable PVC insulation resist heat, abrasion and chemical exposure, while the 8 B&S conductor size aligns with the rest of the Narva battery cable range.
Automotive 8mm cable differs from 240V electrical 8mm cable, with current ratings that vary significantly between the two. The 7 metre length suits dual battery setups in most passenger vehicles, and the cable is finished in black for easy identification when running alongside a red positive lead. Fitting a correctly sized fuse matched to the application is recommended, as an oversized fuse does not provide suitable protection, and performance may reduce when multiple cables are bundled together.
