The King Springs Coil Springs KHFR-168H is a heavy-duty front suspension upgrade for passenger and 4WD vehicles. King Springs leads the design and manufacture of advanced progressive coils with variable pitch and tapered wire forms, engineered for all sectors including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, four wheel drives and motorsport racing (circuit, rally, speedway and off-road). The KHFR-168H raises suspension geometry by 50–100kg load capacity to suit higher towing, cargo or off-road demands.
Built from X5K high-stress spring steel, this new generation material reduces weight by approximately 30 percent compared to conventional coils while increasing suspension travel. The manufacturing cost is substantially higher, but King Springs have introduced X5K to their passenger car and 4WD designs at no extra cost to the consumer; as of now all King Springs coils are manufactured in X5K material. A phosphate coating plus durable epoxy powder coat provides maximum corrosion protection for Australian conditions. Since introduction to leading V8 Supercar teams (including DJR/TP, FTR and Nissan) in early 2007, the X5K specification has proved durable through the highest levels of motorsport competition.
