The Kincrome Auto Diagnostic Scanner OBD2 and CAN is a semi professional handheld scan tool for diagnosing warning lights on most OBD2 compliant vehicles. This OBD2 scanner reads and clears stored and pending trouble codes, turns off the check engine light, and displays real time live data such as RPM, speed, throttle position and fuel consumption, so intermittent faults that never set a code can still be tracked down.
The scan tool carries a 61mm TFT colour display that shows generic and manufacturer specific code definitions where available, and graphs live engine data on screen. Coloured LEDs and a built-in speaker signal results during a drive cycle, which makes the unit useful for emissions readiness checks as well as workshop fault finding. Supported protocols are J1850-PWM, J1850-VPW, ISO9141, KWP2000 (ISO 14230) and CAN (ISO 11898) through the standard 16-pin connector.
Kincrome supplies the code reader with an instruction manual and a USB cable, and it draws 8–18V power from the vehicle, so there are no batteries to charge and no lengthy setup before the first scan. The housing measures 129 x 81 x 24mm and weighs 0.2kg, light enough to hold in one hand while watching data at idle.
