Product Info
The Garrett Turbocharger Heat Shield G707843-0001 is a genuine Garrett service component for rebuilding and repairing Garrett turbochargers. The heat shield, also known as a turbo heat shroud, sits between the turbine housing and the bearing housing side of the turbo, forming a barrier against the radiant heat the exhaust housing gives off.
Garrett lists part number 707843-0001 within the GTB4708B turbocharger build used in Caterpillar engines, and it is also the heat shield specified to suit the GTA4702BNS turbocharger 715735-0013 and the GTA500201BS turbocharger 716875-0007. Matching the shield to the turbo part number keeps a rebuild to the original Garrett specification.
