It is a mineral oil suited to high speed 4-stroke diesel engines that use a broad range of fuel qualities, and it is also compatible with diesel engines fitted with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems.
During everyday operation, combustion by-products can form deposits and thicken engine oil over time. Castrol RX Diesel 15W-40 CI-4/E7 contains cleaning agents that displace particles before they build up on engine surfaces, reducing deposits, while anti-oxidants disrupt the chemical reactions that cause oil thickening.
