The Castrol Automatic Transmission Fluid DEX-III 20 Litre 467172 is an automatic transmission and power steering fluid for transmissions requiring Dexron® or Mercon® performance. It is manufactured to Dexron® III H, IID and II performance levels and is dyed red to distinguish it from engine oil if a leak occurs.
Castrol ATF Dex III gives enhanced high temperature performance for a more durable shift feel through gear changes, and its increased resistance to oil oxidation and degradation keeps the fluid working over a longer service life. Increased clutch band and clutch pack capacity, improved protection of copper and bronze components, and improved low temperature fluidity over earlier Dexron® IID and type Suffix A fluids extend transmission component service life, especially in high load applications.
Castrol ATF Dex III suits GM, Holden, Isuzu, Opel and Hydramatic® automatic transmissions, and many earlier Japanese vehicles including Toyota, Mazda, Nissan and Subaru models where Dexron® type fluids are specified. It can also be used in power steering systems where a Dexron® type fluid is recommended, but it is not suitable where Dexron® VI, Mercon® V, Mercon® SP or Mercon® LV fluid is specified, or in Mercedes-Benz, ZF, BMW, Voith or Renk transmissions.
