The Aerpro Steering Wheel Control Interface to suit BMW & Mini CHBM8C lets you fit an aftermarket head unit while keeping the factory steering wheel controls. It is a CANBUS interface with a 14-way vehicle specific molex connector, supporting reverse trigger, park brake, speed pulse, illumination and telephone mute outputs, and it retains OEM parking sensor audio and chime alerts for oil or washer fluid level, door open and seat belt warnings. A yellow constant power cable wires directly to the vehicle battery, and a Type C steering wheel control patch lead (sold separately) is required to enable the steering wheel control functions with a compatible aftermarket head unit. The interface is not suitable for vehicles fitted with Harmon Kardon OEM amplified systems.
Fitting uses the vehicle specific plug supplied with the harness, so there is no cutting of the factory wiring required, and the interface suits BMW 1 Series, 3 Series (E90), 5 Series (E60/E61), Z4 (E89) and X1 (E84), plus Mini Cooper R50, R53 and R56 models across their listed year ranges.
