If you're looking for a cost-effective way to fix leaks in your exhaust, the Permatex Muffler and Tailpipe Bandage is an easy to use and effective option. This epoxy-impregnated fibreglass bandage measures 5cm by 106cm and chemically welds mufflers and tailpipes, sealing out poisonous fumes to temperatures of up to 426°C (800 degrees Fahrenheit).
Where can you use it?
This bandage is able to permanently repair holes and leaks in exhaust systems, saving on part replacements, and can be used on mufflers and tailpipes of automobiles, trucks, tractors, and farm equipment.

NOTE: Wear gloves to protect your hands from hot exhaust system.
- Wire brush or sand to remove loose rust and dirt. Repair area must be clean. Run car 5-10 minutes before applying bandage.
- Peel backing from bandage. Wrap bandage around damaged area, overlapping the edges at least 1/2″; for extra protection, overlap edge 1″.
- Secure bandage temporarily on both ends with wire.
- Run car 30 minutes. Heat from the exhaust system welds the epoxy resin in the bandage to a solid coating.For a lasting repair, use Permatex®Muffler and Tailpipe Putty over damaged area before applying bandage.
