Stanley

Is this product for you?

Air compressors, regardless of price are always an investment. Buying the wrong compressor can severely restrict the tools that can be used, so it’s always important to look to the future. This Stanley 2.5HP compressor sit’s right atop the compressor food chain with outstanding performance and quality.

How easy is it to use?

Much like any other compressor, there are always a few additional purchases that need to be made before work can begin. SAE 30W or SAE 15W-40 lubricants are well suited to this unit, and once the compressor has been properly serviced with either of these, then it’s just a matter of getting the right tool, hose and inline accessories for the job. Once that’s sorted, the Stanley 2.5HP compressor takes care of the rest. Easy to read gauges are protected in the side of this Stanley compressor, and a removable handle on top makes packing the device away simple. Ultra strong, smooth wheels on the rear make this compressor supremely manoeuvrable, and protective grills and covers on moving components helps keep everyone safe.

Where can you use it?

The Stanley 2.5HP compressor is belt driven, unlike most other compressors on the market. This means that whilst the compressor works just as fast as a traditional direct-driven compressor, this Stanley product will do so with a lot less noise. The Stanley 2.5HP compressor also has a free air delivery rating of 190 Litres/min, making it ideal for almost any work including fastening, cleaning, mechanical work and painting. The Stanley 2.5HP compressor is covered by a huge 24 month warranty too, making it a great investment for any business.

We are unable to deliver goods to PO Box addresses as all delivery orders are sent via courier services. Unfortunately we do not currently offer Authority to Leave (ATL).

International Shipping

Unfortunately supercheapauto.com.au is currently unable to provide international shipping.

Reasons for order delays

  • Entry of an incorrect or incomplete address during checkout.
  • The address had no-one to sign for the parcel.
  • Incorrect payment information was entered against the order. Please double check all details at time of checkout as your order will only be created upon receipt of payment.
  • In the event an order is flagged for verification we may need to get in contact via phone before dispatching some orders. Personal details may need to be confirmed for fraud prevention if we are unable to verify the shipping destination to protect the card holder, and this may delay shipping.
  • Occasionally if a particular product is in high demand we may need to supply product from outside of our standard delivery network. This can cause delays in dispatch if orders are directed to regional locations etc.

If your order is not received within the quoted delivery period please check your order progress via our Track & Trace portal, alternatively contact our Customer Support Team on 1300 175 010 or complete our online enquiry form. We will generally respond to online enquiries within 24 hours.

Good quality, louder than expected
4 / 5
Good quality unit. First time I've bought a belt driven compressor, and heard they were much quieter than direct drive. While it is quieter, I would say only a bit quieter than direct drive compressors - say 20%. I still enjoy using a quality unit though. The gauges are well positioned, including the oil level. I have mine sitting up high on a cabinet in my workshop, and have no fear of it shaking its way to the edge and falling - it barely shakes while running. Powerful motor fills the tank quickly, though it makes a loud pop at the end of each time it refills the tank. You will need a 15mm socket to install the wheels (many socket sets have 14 and 16, but not 15).
Feeling Disappointed

I wish I could write something more positive about this compressor but it does not deliver what it saids (prep tools). OK I haven't try spray paint but it runs out of air very quick when you use a DA sander :-(
everything you need

Great little unit and quiet
Stanley Air Compressor
3 / 5
Had it for a month now and seems to be working well, we will see once we give it a go when using it for nail guns etc.
Cosmetic Damage
3 / 5
The compressor overall works fine, is quiet, easy to assemble and has large capacity for all my jobs. I purchased on special at an excellent price and used after pay feature offered, which has been fine too. However, as purchased new I would expect the item to be in perfect condition. After unpacking I noticed some rust spots on 2 bolts to the fan enclosure. I thought this a bit odd as it looked as though the box had never been opened. Upon further inspection I noticed the housing had a severe scratch on it that had been coloured in with a black marker pen. The defect was only noticeable when it was in the sunlight, but not under artificial light. Although cosmetic problems, I would question the QA undertaken by Stanley whilst in in production and or if damaged in the store it is pretty appalling and a bad fix and should never have been shipped.

Loudest compressor I have used
3 / 5
I have had this compressor for a while now. Works well in providing air and was good value when on special. The noise however was a shock when I turned it on for the first time considering it was advertised as being quiet. Every time I use it I have to close all garage doors and step outside until it stops. I thought my old compressor was loud but this is much louder, more noticeable because of the pitch.
Good unit but POOR transport delivery service and SLOW response to my emails
4 / 5
I bought this unit online and upon delivery found it was damaged due to transport. I immediately informed Supercheap but had no immediate response and after finally getting my problem sorted over the phone and travelling an hour to my closest store to exchange the unit, was told by the store manager that he could not change it and i should have been told this on the phone! After some more discussion he agreed to exchange the unit. He was very helpful and not at all unreasonable. The exchange unit has been working perfectly and I am very happy with it. I will not however be using the online store again.

Stanley 190LPM Air Compressor
4 / 5
I have only used this compressor to date, but so far it seems to work well. It was easy to assemble and came full of compressor oil. The maintenance manual suggest that you check the belt tension and alignment daily, this is not easy to do with the plastic guard in place and needs to be modified for easy access. I purchased the compressor at a special discount which made the deal good value, I would think twice at full retail.
Stanley Belt drive air compressor
3 / 5
It was only once I got the package home that I realised it had already been opened at some stage. The lid was no longer stapled closed. No biggie I thought! hmmm..... Once I had the compressor unpacked & had set it up with wheels & feet I went to adjust the belt as per the instructions. This is where it got a bit weird. You have to almost disassemble the entire thing to remove the plastic belt cover (which the manual says to do every use) to check the adjustment of the belt. My belt was a bit tight. Luckily for me at this stage I discovered that the motor fan shroud had been badly damaged during transit and it fouled on the fan. If I had started the motor up with this damage it would had destroyed the fan blade!!. Removal of this shroud requires removal of the entire motor to get at the screws, this is when I discovered that the motor was at the extreme end of its' travel & the belt was as loose s it could be. Once I had repaired the fan shroud & reassembled the motor & belt cover all was good. I may eventually try & source a slightly longer belt to move the motor into the middle of its' adjustment range. Overall I'm happy with my purchase but should on reflection called immediately about the transit damage. Lesson from this is to check things very carefully BEFORE unpacking.
Nice unit but follow assembly and adjustments first.
4 / 5
Followed assembly as per instruction manual. found handle threads stripped but next size up self tapper fixed this. Good manual. Checked all as per manual, and found drive belt very tight. Loosened off to manual specs and then ran compressor for 10 minutes under no load. Closed tank tap and loaded it up. Ran well. operates rattle gun and other air tools well and starts up when required. Runs fairly quietly. Happy with purchase.

This compressor is fitted with a complete plastic belt guard. It can be removed by undoing six bolts and eight clips. The warranty states that the operator must check belt tension and belt alignment daily. However, it is necessary to remove the guard in order to do this. One of two things will happen, either the operator will comply with the warranty by removing the guard and discarding it because it is too much trouble to keep removing/refitting, not good OHS practice, or the operator will not check tension and alignment daily, as per the warranty and therefore negate the warranty. Stanley need to provide two access apertures in the plastic guard, one to insert a pencil to check tension and one above the compressor pulley to visually check alignment. Problem then solved. I also miss the isolation tap on the air outlet that I had on my other compressor.

The drive belt is fitted with a plastic guard, the warranty requires all instructions to be followed but instructions include, 1- check belt tension daily 2- check belt alignment daily. However, you cannot do either, without complete removal of the guard (6 bolts and eight clips) This takes too much time and effort and will result in wear of the fittings. Result is that the operator will either remove the guard and discard it (not a good idea for OHS) or ignore the daily check (not a good idea for warranty) Stanley need to put two access apertures in the guard, one to push a pencil through to check belt tension and one above the compressor pulley, to view belt alignment. Problem then solved. My other compressor had an isolation tap on the air outlet - this compressor doesn't have one and I miss it
Excellent Air Compressor
5 / 5
I have had this compressor for 3 years now and have not had any problems with it, works every time I need it.
Solid Unit
4 / 5
This belt drive compressor is pretty decent and will handle most applications well. The only thing I wish it had was a larger capacity tank as 50L is undersized for extended use such as spraying. If it came with a larger tank I would have given it 5 stars.
Quality Air Compressor
5 / 5
Stanley lives up to it's reputation with this air compressor. I cannot fault it.

Very good compressor. Low noise level as you would expect with a belt driven unit.
Stanley Compressor

Bought this unit in February this year and started spitting oil out the breather tube a week ago. Was given run around by people at the call service center and now getting the same kind of "service" from the local repairer. Had less than 20Hrs total running time. Not Happy.
Great compact unit
5 / 5
Probably not worth the $799 rrp, however when on special, great value for money. Probably needs a water filter, but all depends on what type of work you use it for. More than enough to spray a couple of panels at a time, and fantastic with air orbital palm sander.
Good value

Compressor is a great unit for the workshop excellent quality and we'll priced.

Very happy with the compressor. Haven't used it much yet but it performs well.
Good value compressor
5 / 5
I bought this compressor for $399 (on special) about a month ago and I thought I would post a review after using the machine for some time. It certainly is quieter than my previous SCA direct drive compressor (which I've used for the last 7 years - maintain them and they will last). I have spray-painted an entire 6x4 fully enclosed trailer and the Stanley handled it with ease. It is quite robust, designed well enough and is twin cylinder - only that it's an inline-twin, not a V-twin, so hard to detect at first sight. Only thing I found is that the belt tension was way too tight out of the box - but no problem to adjust, just follow the manual. The manual is well written by the way (not 'Chinglish'). Parts look like good quality. Over all I'm very happy with it. It has a 95% duty cycle, unlike most of the 2.5HP direct models that only have a 25% duty cycle. I certainly do recommend this Stanley compressor - only wait until they go on special as I don't believe they are worth $750.
Big Stu.
5 / 5
So far so good it has done everything I wanted and value for money.
Best Compressor I have used compared to cheaper versions.
5 / 5
Best Value for many compared to the $1000 Plus units out there, This Stanley unit does everything the more expensive ones do. Before this unit, l looked for months doing research of which Compressor to buy and l made the mistake of buying a more cheaper version, this cheaper unit claimed to be great for Trades people, but the first thing l tried was the drill and after 10 to 15 seconds l could hold the drill chuck in my hand and stop, there was hardly any power to it so l took it back and found the Stanley it is so powerful and keeps the power up to any tool none stop. I am so happy with my Stanley unit and l would recommend to everyone.
What a fantastic machine.
5 / 5
Very happy with this unit.
Best compressor for under $1000
5 / 5
Great value and provides more then enough air supply at home or at work. Had it for little over 2 years now still works great. It's pretty quite too and for it's size and quality light also.
VERY GOOD COMPRESSOR FOR THE PRICE
5 / 5
Well built, cheap price, belt driven compressor suits me 5 stars
Very good unit
5 / 5
I recently upgraded my old no-name 24L compressor to this Stanley AP. Very happy so far. It is quieter than my old one. It is a well finished quality product, solidly built. Pressure gauges are good quality unlike some others. Nitto fitting is very good quality too. Handles my air wrenches with ease. Has everything you need on it.
