Is this product for you?
Going out on a 4WD adventure without a snatch strap is a bit like going to the beach without sunscreen, it’s just not a very good idea. This Ridge Ryder 11000kg 4WD snatch strap is the largest available product in the Ridge Ryder range, however this doesn’t mean that it should only be reserved for seasoned off roaders.
How easy is it to use?
Even for the novice, a snatch strap is a relatively simple recovery tool to use, however Ridge Ryder makes it even easier with a compact user and safety guide that can be kept on hand for quick reference. Remember though, any vehicle recovery involving straps or cables under tension can pose a serious safety risk, so it is important to read through this guide in earnest.
Where can you use it?
Although the weight of the vehicles involved play a large role in snatch strap selection, it is important to remember that a bogged vehicle will require a lot more force to move than one on solid ground. As a general rule of thumb the ‘Minimum Breaking Strength’ of a snatch strap should ideally be roughly 2-to-3 times the gross vehicle mass (GVM) of the ‘lightest’ vehicle in the recovery. If you’re unsure of your vehicle’s GVM, you can generally check this on your registration certificate or in the owner’s manual. It is important to ensure that the strap is correct for the situation though, as a strap that is too ‘heavy’ may not stretch as desired.
