Is this product for you?
As an excellent introduction to the world of ‘high-volume, low-pressure’ spray painting systems, the Blackridge gravity fed air spray gun has distinct advantages that traditional high-pressure guns simply can’t match. As opposed to traditional high pressure guns which can be very inefficient with material consumption; with as little as 30% of the loaded material finding its way to the desired surface. ‘High-volume, low-pressure’ guns do not require nearly the same amount of air pressure to atomise the material, giving typical transfer rates of 50% or more.
How easy is it to use?
Another distinct benefit is in the gravity feed design. Not only will a gravity fed gun not splutter as much when paint is running low, the design of the gun allows the operator to use all the material loaded in the cup, whereas a traditional spray gun will always end up with material at the bottom of the cup which simply can’t be collected by the suction tube. As with most ‘high-volume, low-pressure’ spray guns, a side mounted spray pattern adjustment and rear mounted volume adjustment dial allow easy, single handed tweaking of material dispersion.
Where can you use it?
Because of the outstanding material transfer rate of this style of spray gun, the Blackridge ‘high-volume, low-pressure’ gun’s 600mL cup might not sound like much, however holds enough to get the job done. This Blackridge gun also features a 1.4mm nozzle, ideal for paint, as well as top coats and sealers. This particular spray gun is designed to work on any compressor able to deliver 100 Litres/min; however a compressor with a large tank is strongly preferable. Additional cups are also available online or in store.
