How To Maintain a Glossy Showroom Shine

Maintaining that Glossy Showroom Shine is Simple with these quick tips to keep your car looking great.

Washing, polishing and waxing your car is a bit of a process, so you probably don’t want to be doing the whole thing too frequently right?

Luckily, if you want to keep your finish looking spotless in between washes, you’ll only need some detailer spray, and a few microfibre towels.

What you'll need

  • Glass Cleaner
  • Tyre Shine
  • Detailer
  • Microfibre cloths

Tips and warnings

  • If you're car looks too dirty, it's best to give it a proper wash before detailing
  • Detailers are designed to lift up the dirt, allow good lubrication for wiping without scratching and leave a glossy finish while cleaning with a clean microfibre cloth.

Step 1 - Using Detailer

Step 1 - Applying Detailer

Applying a detailer is as simple as spraying it onto one section at a time, and wiping the panel clean with one of your microfibre cloths.

With a second cloth, buff the surface until the bright, high-gloss shine is achieved!

Most detailers use special hydrophobic formulas to protect your car from water spots, and they also add a slick layer that prevents other contaminants from sticking.

Detailers can be used on all sorts of surfaces, and unlike waxes and polishes, you don’t need to worry if you get some on plastics, vinyls or other porous surfaces.

Step 2 - Glass Cleaning

Step 2 - Glass Cleaning

To apply your glass cleaner, simply spray your glass cleaner either directly onto your windows, or onto your glass cloth, and then buff the glass until it no longer has visible streaks.

Step 3 - Tyre Shine

Step 3 - Tyre Shine

Tyre shine is even easier to apply - simply spray it directly onto your rubber, and wipe any overspray off your paintwork and rims.

It will add a high gloss shine and a protective layer to your rubber, and can also be applied to other black trim on your car.

There are also detailing products that are designed for use with alloys, chrome and other metal surfaces - so you can easily keep your wheels, grille and badges looking super shiny and new as well.
