If you already have roof bars or a roof rack installed on your vehicle, having extra shelter from the elements is as easy as bolting on a Ridge Ryder awning.
Installation is easy!
Step 1 - Sizing
Choose an awning that suits the length of your vehicle and the size of your roof rack and determine the mounts you are going to use to fix the awning.
Your Ridge Ryder awning comes supplied with two L brackets which will work with most roof racks and bars although there may be appropriate mounts built into your roof rack, or mounts available specific to your roof rack brand.
Step 2 - Mounting Awning
First mount the awning brackets to your roof rack, as far apart as possible.
Lift the awning to the roof rack and ensure that the brackets are as far towards the ends of the awning as possible.
With the awning laid on its front, slide the 20 millimetre bolts into the channel along the back of the awning.
Now raise the awning to the brackets and align the bolts with the brackets, sliding them through the holes.
The nylon nuts can now be wound on a couple of turns to hold the awning in place.
Step 3 - Positioning and Tightening
Slide the awning forward or backwards until you are happy with the position, ensuring that the ends have enough support on the bracket.
The last thing left to do is to tighten the nuts onto the bracket and your awning is ready to roll.
Step 4 - Test Run
To setup your awning, check out the guide here.
There is an LED light (Sold Separately) to suit Ridge Ryder awnings giveing you the ultimate night time set up.
Powering up the light is as simple as plugging the cable into an accessory socket, and twisting the dimmer knob to your desired brightness.
