What is the cfm of my air compressor?
Question from Luke:
I bought an air compressor and can't find out what the cfm is. Thought you guys might be able to help. It's a 2.75hp superworks air compressor with a 50 liter tank?
Answer:
The CFM rating for our 2.75 HP compressor with the 50 Litre tank is 8.76 CFM.
The way to work this out (should you ever need to) is by taking the Free Air Delivery in LPM (litres per minute) and dividing it by 28.32. This will give you the CFM of any compressor if you know the Free Air Delivery LPM of the unit. EG our 2.5hp has 112 LPM so it would be 3.9CFM. Please note, this is the free air delivery at the tap, not the pump displacement.
