Tips for re-spraying your car?
Question from Raegan:
Im thinking of respraying my Toyota corrola hatch in enemal could you please give me the steps on respraying it.
Answer from Septone:
Step 1.
All existing paintwork would need to be washed with wax and grease remover to remove old car polish, bitumen and grease then sanded with 320-400 grit wet or dry sandpaper.
Step 2.
Mask off all areas and wash with wax and grease remover again, apply 2 coats of primer filler and allow primer to dry for a minimum of 2 hours.
Step 3.
Lightly sand primer filler with 600 grit wet or dry sandpaper until smooth, wash again with wax and grease remover and apply 3 coats of spraying enamel.
Refer directions for use on the back label of each product for thinning ratios, drying times etc.
Note: Quick dry enamel is not recommended for vehicles as it does not provide long term UV resistance. We recommend Acrylic Lacquer for all automotive refinish applications.
