Mad Matt's 4WD Tips

Mad Matt is one of those lucky folk who was pretty much raised on the road exploring the world. His first Cape York trip was at 18 months old in the back of a Kombi. Much of Matt’s childhood was spent growing up in Papua New Guinea where he learned to drive a tractor by 10 years old, and the old Landrover soon after that. In 1987 Matt took on an apprenticeship as a motor mechanic, during which time he got into his own four wheel drive, a 1982 Holden Jackaroo. This was followed by a Toyota Bundera and a 4WD Mitsubishi canter truck!

These days Matt gets around in the bush in an 80 series Toyota Landcruiser, with a Toyota Bundera for a weekend toy. All those years of steep, muddy tracks, desert runs and rock crawling in vastly different vehicles have given Matt the skills to have a great time on the trails, and come home safe at the end of the day. Skills which Mad Matt is excited to share with you through Ridge Ryder.
